LAUDERDALE, FL – January 29, 2018; IronBridgeEnterprise launched formally today at IoT Evolution Expo, introducing an Internet service layer that unifies security of smart devices, cloud services, edge services, and digital assets, enabling next generation distributed applications and services.
Established by early innovators in the Industrial IoT (IIoT) and IT blockchain revolutions, the company is providing secure, blockchain-enabled, edge computing solutions to enterprise customers, with projects underway in the energy and health care industries focused on addressing data integrity and cybersecurity challenges.
This emerging edge computing industry is a high growth and dynamic sector resulting from enterprise adoption of IoT, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain technologies. The edge computing market is growing at a 41% CAGR and is expected to reach $3.2B by 2025.
The IronBridge team has contributed to projects like FreeIPA and the Cognida Project, with this expertise, IronBridge is building Data Security as a Service (DSaaS) solutions proven at the edge in health care, distributed energy generation, distributed control systems including legacy automation, smart city and region applications and agriculture.
IronBridge incorporates the open source cybersecurity frameworks into custom edge applications for enterprise customers and offers network services for managing digital identities, assets and distributed, edge applications.

In 2018, the number of Internet connected devices exceeded the total world population by a factor of 3. Analyst firms like Gartner and Statista confirm this explosive growth will continue. The emerging technology driving these numbers, referred to as Edge Computing, is driven by increased adoption of Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and blockchain technologies by enterprises.
Examples include connected edge sensors & AI for: driverless vehicles, buildings, factories and remote locations. Edge applications can run on mobile devices, performing increasingly complex tasks with the advent of 4G and 5G mobile networks. These devices generate, acquire and analyze data. AI edge computing allows the edge devices to take local actions on data without human input.
